In sales, setting daily benchmarks is crucial to ensure consistent progress. At my job, I’m required to reach 157 points each day, which can be earned through emails, phone calls, walk-ins, or business meetings with prospective clients. While it may sound tedious, it becomes enjoyable when you treat it like a game. There’s a real sense of achievement in surpassing 157 points, especially early in the day.

Because of this, I’m constantly checking my points throughout the day to track my progress and see how much more I need to accomplish.

We use Gong and Salesforce to record our activities, but neither platform provides a way to calculate points or show whether you’ve hit your daily KPI goal.

Spreadsheet

When I first started, I used a Google Sheet to calculate my KPIs:

Prompting

We all received ChatGPT accounts at work, and since I’ve been using it for so many other tasks throughout the day, I thought, why not use ChatGPT for this too? I wrote the following prompt in OneNote, and whenever I needed to calculate my KPIs, I simply copied and pasted it into ChatGPT:

Creating The GPT

ChatGPT is great for repetitive tasks. I got frustrated with constantly toggling between Chrome and OneNote, starting a new chat in ChatGPT, and having to copy and paste (I know, what an inconvenience). So I thought, why not create a GPT?

All you need to do is enter your amounts, and the result will be fully broken down and calculated for you:

I have to reach 157 points a day to reach my daily KPI goal.

-Held meetings are 15 points
-Calls are 3 points
-Walk-ins are 6 points
-Emails are 1 point.

Once i tell you how many meeting, calls, walking, and emails I have done for the day, you need to help me calculate how many points I have and how many points do I need to get to 157.

OUTPUT:

[Number of meetings and total points from it]
[Number of walk-in and total points from it]
[Number of emails and total points from it]
[Number of walk-in and total points from it]
[Total number of points]

[How many more points do I need to reach 157]
[My total points as a % of 157 points]
[The number of calls I need (3 points each) to reach 157]
